We’re happy to announce that last week we raised $8,000 for the American Cancer Society, Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation and the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. How? By paying to dunk our favorite executives in a cold tank of water.
On Tuesday, July 18th Almo held the first ever, Splash for Cash event at their corporate headquarters in Philadelphia, PA. Several weeks prior to the event, employees
cast votes to select the lucky management team members who would take a turn in the dunk tank. The Top 10 took turns in the dunk tank throughout the day with employees paying $5.00 for 3 balls or $25 for a special ‘push the lever’ option where they could bypass throwing and push the lever by hand. Employees at other locations were able to participate via a GoFundMe donation and live Facebook feeds.
We’d like to thank the following people who took their turn getting wet throughout the day, some while wearing suits or special outfits designed for the occasion. In alphabetical order: Michael Campagna, Customer Care Manager; Warren Chaiken, President & CEO; Matt Elkes, CFO; Ed Gibbons, EVP; Jack Halperin, Sr. VP Dealer Sales;
Bill Littlestone, VP Credit & Collections; Mark Shikvarger, Controller; Dave Smith, Sales Manager, Dealer; Chuck Trill, Philadelphia Warehouse Manager; Nancy Webb, Sr. Buyer Small Appliances, and Chef Keith took the final turn to cool off after a hot day behind the grill.
Lunch was provided to all attending employees courtesy of our sponsors Danby, Honeywell and KitchenAid. Almo chef, Keith Mecutchen, created the menu and manned the grill for the employee cookout.
The event ran from 11:00am until 3:30pm. Donations from the on-site event and GoFundMe page totalled $8,000 to be split evenly among the chosen charities.
