Philadelphia, PA — September 24, 2025 — Almo Corporation, one of the largest distributors of appliances, Pro AV, electronics, furniture and housewares in the U.S., today announced it has been named a finalist in two categories: Community Impact and Ally of the Year for CRN®, a brand of The Channel Company’s 2025 Women of the Year Awards.
This is the third annual CRN Women of the Year Awards, which spotlight extraordinary women, companies, and allies who demonstrate dedication to advancing the IT industry through their leadership and initiatives each day. The winners of the Women of the Year Awards will be announced at the CRN Awards Gala on December 9, 2025 in New York City.
As a Community Impact Award finalist, Almo is recognized for making a meaningful difference beyond business. By embedding philanthropy into its culture, Almo empowers employees at every level to serve its communities through volunteering, donations, and charitable partnerships.
In addition, Dan Smith, Executive Vice President of Almo Pro AV, has earned a spot as a finalist for Ally of the Year. Smith champions inclusive leadership and has helped build a workforce where women represent more than 40 percent of Almo employees, far surpassing industry averages.
“We are humbled to be named a finalist in two categories for the CRN Women of the Year Awards,” said Troy Draper, President and CEO of DCC Technology North America, parent company of Almo. “Giving back isn’t a side project for Almo, it’s the lens through which we make decisions and build partnerships. We believe consistent, people-first engagement creates a ripple effect of compassion and helps create more connected communities.”
He added, “Supporting women goes beyond inclusion. It means advocacy, empowerment, and trust. Dan demonstrates true allyship every day by creating space for women to lead with confidence, while supporting their growth, and amplifying their voices and ideas.”
“It’s an honor to celebrate the finalists of the CRN Women of the Year Awards, whose exceptional achievements and unwavering dedication are driving meaningful change throughout the IT Channel,” said Jennifer Follett, VP of U.S. Content and Executive Editor at CRN, The Channel Company. “These remarkable finalists inspire the channel ecosystem with their bold vision, leadership, and commitment to building a more inclusive and innovative tech landscape. We commend their contributions and eagerly anticipate the lasting impact they will make in shaping the future of our industry.”
