Tim Baxter Joins Almo Corporation Advisory Board

Almo Corporation, the nation’s leading independent distributor of appliances, consumer electronics, Pro A/V equipment and housewares, today announced that technology industry veteran and former Samsung Electronics North American President and CEO Tim Baxter has joined the Almo Advisory Board.

A results-oriented global leader with a successful track record of accomplishments spanning more than 35 years in the consumer electronics, telecom, mobile appliance and entertainment industries, Baxter has excelled in managing and scaling businesses and teams, complexity, crisis management, technology, leadership, change management, board roles and giving back.

According to Chaiken, the Almo Advisory Board’s primary functions are to provide experienced counsel on business direction, unbiased insights and ideas from an outside perspective, and support of new business development.

As President and CEO of Samsung Electronics North America, Baxter was responsible for all aspects of the organization, including consumer electronics, mobile, marketing, customer care, B2B, services and new business in the U.S. and Canada.

Prior to Samsung, Baxter held executive, marketing, product management and sales positions at Sony Corporation of America, AT&T and Lucent Technologies. He graduated from Roger Williams University with a Bachelor of Science in marketing and currently serves as a Chairman of the Board of Trustees. He also holds an honorary degree from Roger Williams University and honorary doctorate from South Carolina State University. Additionally, Tim serves on the Board of Directors for the CTIA, Junior Achievement USA and the ADL-CE board, and he is active with Covenant House of NJ.
